Join Us In Saving Public School Music Programs!
Give Brooklyn students the chance to study and perform music! Our music program needs your help. Support Auto Music on June
12th, 2010 by participating in our fun, exciting, family-friendly 5K Run/Walk and celebration!
About Auto Music
"Auto Music"
has been in existence for 5 years, and has grown to include a marching band,
hip hop jazz band, and annual spring musical, a hip hop dance team, in addition to daily classes in
music production, piano, acting, and singing. In a time and place where
after-school activities are quickly disappearing or downsizing, Auto Music has
grown to include more students than any other club or sports team at the high
school. Students and music ensembles have performed at countless
community events, the Village Halloween Parade, Auto Varsity Football games, Wellesley College's annual Hip Hop Dance Convention, have been accepted to citywide honors music programs, acting programs at the
Stella Adler School, and regularly audition for and have been chosen for paid
acting parts in numerous films.
5K Road Race
Race for Auto Music is
a 5K run/walk open to all. The race will start and end in McCarren Park in Greenpoint.
Awards
Trophies will be given to the top overall male and female finishers.
An additional award will be given to the fastest finisher who carries a musical instrument throughout the race!
The awards ceremony will take place around 10:00am at Auto.
After Party
Join us back at Auto after the race for family-friendly events and games! These include:
- Longest Football Throw competition (brought to you by the amazing Auto Football coaches!)
- Greenmarket (fresh from Auto's garden!)
- Automotive Showcase (courtesy of our skilled auto shop teachers and students!)
- Field day events and races for kids

Online registration
through Eventbrite will be available until either the race fills up or midnight on June 11,
2010. On-site race day registration will be available from 7am to 8am June
12th if space remains. Fees are as follows:
Before May 15th, 2010: $20
May 15th- June 11, 2010: $25
Race Day (On-site): $30
T Shirts and Goodies
Race t shirts are included in the fee and guaranteed to online registrants only. Please indicate the size you desire upon registration. A limited number of shirts will be available to on-site registrants race day.
Water and post-race snacks will be available to runners and walkers.
